ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
After a dramatic reading from his young adult novel Pritty, participants will explore techniques for creating fictional worlds and characters that re-imagine home, radical acceptance, and healing from trauma. Workshop attendees will not only reflect on their own conceptualization of “home” but how to use lived experience to create characters and worlds that restore hope, transform trauma, and unlock healing for us all.
ABOUT KEITH
Keith F. Miller, Jr. is an award-winning educator, artist, and researcher who studies healing literacies and their role in supporting BIPOC communities in healing, growing, and thriving through trauma. The founder of Healing By Any Means, LLC, Keith’s work powers people, projects, and healing-centered research in service of systems and narrative change through the arts. He has an MFA in creative writing from St. Francis College in Brooklyn, NY and an MS in educational psychology from University of Wisconsin - Madison. Keith is also an executive producer of Pritty: The Animation. Pritty is his debut novel, book one of a series.
